About This Special Issue
The special issue on Emerging Trends in Agricultural Science for Sustainable Development aims to address the evolving challenges and innovations in agriculture hat are critical to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Agriculture is at the intersection of food security, environmental sustainability, and economic development. As the global population continues to rise, there is increasing pressure on agricultural systems to produce more food while minimizing environmental impacts and fostering resilience against climate change.
The significance of this special issue lies in its focus on aligning agricultural practices with sustainability goals. By highlighting cutting-edge research and trends, the issue seeks to advance agricultural methods that are productive, resource-efficient, and environmentally responsible.
Objectives:
(1) To explore innovative agricultural technologies and practices that promote sustainability
(2) To identify key challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and resource depletion, and discuss how to overcome them
(3) To encourage interdisciplinary research that integrates social, economic, and environmental dimensions of agricultural sustainability
(4) To provide insights into policy frameworks and governance models that support sustainable agriculture
The special issue invites the submission of:Research articles, Review articles, Case studies and Short communications.
Through this special issue, we aim to exploring new methods of enhancing crop productivity, resilience and understanding of techniques for efficient water use and soil health maintenance which will directly benefit the areas where resource scarcity is a concern, supporting the sustainability of agriculture in both developed and developing regions. We welcome researchers from various disciplines to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on Emerging Trends in Agricultural Science for Sustainable Development. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing knowledge in this field.

Potential Topics or Research Areas:

  1. Climate-Smart Agriculture: Methods to improve resilience and reduce the carbon footprint of agricultural systems
  2. Agro-ecology and Biodiversity: Approaches to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services in farming systems
  3. Digital Agriculture and Precision Farming: Use of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and data analytics to optimize farming inputs like water, nutrients, and pesticides
  4. Sustainable Water and Soil Management: Technologies and strategies to improve water use efficiency and soil health
  5. Agri-Nanotechnology: The use of nanotechnology to improve crop yield, pest management, and soil health
